I'm new and so i'm getting the hang of uploading. What better way then with my favorite work probably, certainly so of my craftsmanship stuff.

"The wealth of Moria was not in gold or jewels, but mithril." -Gandalf(movie)

if anyones interested i used 4mm jump rings sold by jewelers. their meant to be used in necklaces but i make them armor ^.^ depending on the metal you can get about 70 nickel for 1 buck and SUPPOSED to get 48 sterling silver for 1 as well. i estimate the piece shown at anywhere from 15 to 20 dollars of rings.

I got good news guys. I think I've got myself a sponsor. Or at least a highly interested customer who is helping me get established. He's taking some of my work to California to advertise, and helping me to speed up the production times. I used to cut links with a pair of wire snips and now I use diamond edged blades and plasma cutters! Woohoo!!

In other words, what used to take me 40-50 hours now takes 5-6.

This mesh still amazes me though. What in gods name did you use to put it together!?!

Thanks. ^^ sorry it took me so long to reply, haven't had access of late. I've got more good news though. The suit is almost done. We've been working on it for a while now, and after many problems, we have a well refined process.

It's made of 5056 aluminum in 3/36 in thickness. Hopefully with a little heat treating, we can have a mesh as strong as steel, and 1/5th the weight!

I'm planning on posting some pics soon!

Your patience is amazing! :jawdrop: I stand in awe! I watched my son and his friend practice making chainmail out of PVC rings! I thought THAT looked tedious...

lol its really not that bad. the main annoying issue is when a ring slips and you can't find the little bastard on the floor. >.<
